| Notes | UW yell leader Bill Horsley introduced The Hook in 1911. It was carried to each game as a symbol of UW's dominance in football. It was 10 feet tall and made of oak.(Paul Dorpat, "Hooked on football, " in Pacific Northwest, the Seattle Times Magazine, October 6, 2002).
