Pamphlet and Textual Ephemera Collection

The Pamphlet and Textual Ephemera Collection is a database of documents, pamphlets, booklets, flyers, and other original material housed in the UW Libraries Special Collections Division that has been reformatted for digital display. Most of the materials are drawn from the Pacific Northwest Collection of pamphlets, books, and theater programs, and various other textual ephemeral collections. The subjects cover tourism in Washington State, architecture and urban development in Seattle, theater and amusements, and the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition.

About the Database

The information for Pamphlet and Textual Ephemera Collection was researched and prepared by the UW Libraries Special Collections Division in 2006. The textual materials in this database are selections from various pamphlet and book collections held at the UW Libraries Special Collections Division. Additional textual material is located in other Special Collections digital databases including the Grand Coulee Dam Collection, Seattle Power and Water Supply Collection, Tacoma Narrows Bridge Collection, Vietnam War Era Collection, Washington State Pioneer Life Database, WTO Collection Centralia Massacre, Everett Massacre, and the Salmon Collection. The text for the Pamphlet and Textual Ephemera Collection was scanned using a Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL and saved in .jpg format. Some manipulation of the images was done to present the clearest possible digital image. The scanned images were then linked with descriptive data using CONTENTdm software.
