Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- There is only one reservation allowed per person, per day, up to 2 hours.
- You can reserve your seat up to one week in advance.
Can I make a reservation right before I arrive?
- Yes, if seats are available. You will need to make the reservation yourself on your own device. Staff cannot do this for you due to health guidelines.
Why do some slots show as unavailable on the reservation system?
- We require 15 minutes between each reservation to clean the workplaces thoroughly, so the reservation system shows cleaning time as unavailable.
Can I leave and return within the timeframe of my reservation?
- Yes. If you leave/return to the Research Commons space, take all valuable items with you (phone, laptop, calculator, expensive textbook). Staff are not responsible for your personal belongings. When returning, let Check-In Desk staff know you are simply returning from a break.
Do I need to check in and out for my seat reservation?
- Yes, please check in with staff when you arrive, showing them your Husky Card. Staff may ask for your NetID to find your reservation, and will direct you to your seat after you check-in.
- A staff person may approach you to remind you that your reservation has expired, but you do not need to check-out when you leave at the end of your time.
- If you have any difficulty with this, please see a staff member at the check-in desk.
